I had a delightful and warm stay at Carmel Homestay with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph. Their home, beautifully maintained and welcoming, offers a simple and traditional atmosphere that feels genuinely homely. The surroundings are also calm and peaceful. Mrs. Joseph’s cooking was a highlight—she had prepared delicious and wholesome meals that also were according to my dietary restrictions. With Mr. Joseph I enjoyed our engaging conversations about his work, the book he is working on, Lucknow city’s food and culture and the changes in Bangalore over the years. While the price felt slightly on the higher side, the overall experience made it well worth it. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone seeking an authentic homestay experience and some peace and quiet in Bangalore.

We were a team of 10 members who wanted to spend some quality time together. We studied in same Engineering college 30 years back. We were not sure how the home stay will be when we booked the rooms. We checked in on a Saturday and got introduced to the owner cum chief Chef of the property. He had maintained the property with great care and there is a message to convey in every item there! We became friends and it was nice to know the life journey of Mr. Joseph (Owner) and his family. He explained his experience in life as a global citizen and it was really amazing experience he could share with us. The side dishes he and his wife cooked for us was really good (especially the beef variety). The chicken items were also really good. The hospitality and the care he had shown towards us was great and I recommend this place for family as well as for a team of 10-12 people. Most of us bought his book called "Connecting the dots" which is a good insight into his journey. The breakfast was decent and the lunch was good. However. I felt the dinner was slightly costly for the dishes available. We will definitely visit this place again whenever we decide to meet again. Joseph Uncle and Maria Aunti, they are the best host I have met in a long time, they are so friendly. Of course their breakfast is delectable.
